Rules

Opening a cell shows a number: how many mines touch it among its eight neighbors. Flag the cells you know are mines and open every safe cell to win. Opening a zero clears its neighbors automatically.

Patterns to know

  • 1-1 on an edge: two 1s side by side along a wall often mean the third cell is safe.
  • 1-2-1: along a wall, the mines sit across from both 1s and the middle is safe.
  • 1-2-2-1: the mines sit across from the two middle cells.

When a number already has that many flags around it, click the number to open the rest of its neighbors at once. A wrong flag will set off a mine, so be sure.

Levels

Beginner is 9×9 with 10 mines, Intermediate is 16×16 with 40, and Expert is 30×16 with 99. On narrow screens Expert turns sideways to 16×30.

FAQ

How do I flag on a phone?
Long press a cell, or switch to Flag mode with the button above the board.
Can the first click hit a mine?
No. The first cell and its eight neighbors are always mine-free.
Will I ever have to guess?
Mines are placed at random like the classic game, so occasionally logic alone cannot decide.
