Early on, flip cards you have not seen yet to gather information. Name what you see with its place, like "top row, second card is a star", and it sticks longer. If your first card matches one you have seen, go for the pair. If it is new, flip another unseen card rather than guessing.
It is a good game to play with kids, and larger grids make solid focus practice.
